An EcoMur block close up, straw fibres in the surface

A block that keeps carbon in the wall

Our first product is a partition block that replaces D500 aerated concrete in interior walls and brings a negative carbon footprint into the building.

Properties

Built to behave like the block it replaces

Light

Easy to carry and quick to lay, with less load on the floor slab.

Precise geometry

Laid on glue in a thin joint, not on a bed of mortar.

Worked like wood

Cut with a saw, fixed with nails, no wall plugs needed.

Good sound insulation

The porous structure dampens sound between rooms.

Evens out humidity

Straw takes up excess moisture and gives it back when the air is dry.

Negative carbon footprint

The plant carbon from the straw stays in the wall.

Building with it

Ordinary tools, no mortar

Laying an EcoMur block onto thin-joint glue

On glue

Mineral adhesive or polyurethane adhesive foam in a thin joint. No cement mortar.

An industrial stapler joining EcoMur blocks across the joints

With staples

The blocks are joined with ordinary staples from an industrial stapler.
